Terms of Use
Effective date: July 15, 2026 · Last updated: July 16, 2026
Welcome! These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of The BrightBrick Project website. By using this site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
About this site
This website is provided by The BrightBrick Project ("we," "us," or "our"), a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt public charity based in Helena, Alabama, for informational purposes: to describe our mission, share our work, and connect donors and volunteers with ways to help children in foster care.
Donations
Monetary donations are processed by PayPal on PayPal's own website and are subject to PayPal's terms and privacy policy. Donations are voluntary gifts and, except as required by law, are non-refundable. Donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law; no goods or services are provided in exchange for donations. If you believe a donation was made in error, contact us promptly and we will work with you in good faith.
Volunteering
Volunteer opportunities (such as writing letters of encouragement) are subject to our volunteer guidelines, including our letter content standards and review process. Volunteers under 18 must have a parent or guardian's permission. We may decline, edit, or not deliver any submitted letter at our sole discretion to protect the children we serve.
Intellectual property
The content of this site — including our name, logo, text, and original artwork — belongs to The BrightBrick Project. Photography is used under license (see our credits). You may share links to this site freely; please do not copy our logo or content for other purposes without permission. LEGO® is a trademark of the LEGO Group of companies, which does not sponsor, authorize, or endorse this website or this organization.
Third-party links
This site links to third-party services (PayPal, Amazon, Google Forms, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and news sites). We do not control those services and are not responsible for their content, terms, or privacy practices.
No warranties
This site is provided "as is" and "as available." While we work to keep information accurate and the site secure, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, about the site's availability, accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, The BrightBrick Project and its officers, directors, volunteers, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of this site or any linked third-party service.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Alabama, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in full effect.
Venue
Any dispute arising from these Terms or this website will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Shelby County, Alabama, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes take effect when posted on this page, and the "Last updated" date above will reflect the current version.
